A Summer Wedding at Cranford Hall: Kevin & Tracy’s Special Day
During the summer of 2024, I had the absolute pleasure of capturing Kevin and Tracy’s wedding at the breathtaking Cranford Hall, a gem of a venue in Northamptonshire. What made this booking even more special was that the team at Cranford Hall recommended me to the couple—an amazing honour and a testament to how much I love working at this venue.
Having photographed weddings at Cranford Hall before, I couldn’t wait to return. This venue truly has a charm like no other, and I knew it would be the perfect backdrop for Kevin and Tracy’s celebration.
Meeting Kevin & Tracy: A Relaxed and Fun-Loving Couple
Before the big day, I met Kevin and Tracy at a cosy pub to go over their wedding timeline and get to know them a little better. From the moment we started chatting, I could tell they were such a relaxed, fun-loving pair. Their excitement about celebrating with their nearest and dearest was infectious, and I left the meeting buzzing with ideas for their wedding photography.
Getting Ready: A Buzz of Excitement
The wedding day arrived in no time, and I headed to a nearby hotel to capture Tracy and her bridal party getting ready. The atmosphere in the room was electric—full of laughter, excitement, and that unmistakable pre-wedding buzz. Tracy’s smile lit up the room, and it was a joy to document these candid, happy moments.
After capturing some fun shots of the bridal preparations, I made my way to Cranford Hall to meet Kevin and the arriving guests.
The Ceremony: Emotional Moments at St. Andrew’s Church
The ceremony took place in the stunning St. Andrew’s Church, right on the Cranford Hall grounds. As the guests arrived, Kevin was all smiles, greeting each person with a warm hug. For Kevin and Tracy, it was important to prioritise capturing as many moments with their loved ones as possible, which is something I absolutely love to do.
When Tracy arrived at the church, she took everyone’s breath away. Kevin’s face said it all—his proud smile and emotional reaction were such beautiful moments to photograph. The ceremony was a mix of heartfelt emotions, from tears to laughter, and it was truly a joy to witness.
Confetti and Lawn Games: Fun at Cranford Hall
After the “I dos,” we headed outside for one of my favourite parts of the day—the confetti throw! Kevin and Tracy were beaming as their guests showered them in colourful confetti. This high-energy moment always makes for some of the best photos!
The drinks reception took place on the lawns of Cranford Hall, where guests enjoyed lawn games under the perfect summer sun. Watching how competitive people get over wedding games is always hilarious, and it’s such a fun part of the day to capture.
Couples Portraits: Natural and Relaxed Moments
During the drinks reception, we also made time for group photos and a few couples portraits. I believe wedding portraits should be quick, natural, and enjoyable, so couples can spend more time with their guests. Kevin and Tracy appreciated this approach, and with Cranford Hall’s stunning grounds, we didn’t have to go far to find the perfect spots for some magical shots.
Speeches, Golden Hour, and the Dance Floor
The wedding breakfast and speeches took place in Cranford Hall’s beautiful studio. The speeches were full of laughs and heartfelt moments—perfect for capturing the emotions of the day.
As the evening set in, we took advantage of a stunning golden hour for a second round of couples portraits. This soft, dreamy light is a photographer’s dream, and it added something extra special to their photos.
The day wrapped up with cake-cutting, an unforgettable first dance, and a packed dance floor. Guests danced the night away in true celebration style, and it was the perfect way to end such an incredible day.
