Happy bride and groom at wedding ceremony aisle.

A Delightful Return to Dodmoor House

What a treat it was to be back at Dodmoor House for Charlotte and Ashley’s wedding!

Dodmoor House, in Northamptonshire, is one of my absolute favourite wedding venues, and capturing so many couples’ special days here over the years has been a real joy. I had a delightful catch-up with Charlotte and Ashley at their home to go over their wedding timeline and get to know them better. As fate would have it, I went to school with Ashley! Small world, isn’t it? The couple were laid-back and clearly excited about their big day. I left their home buzzing with anticipation for what was to come.

I was on board from the bridal preparations right through to the first dance. Charlotte chose to start getting ready at home before finishing up at Dodmoor House, which I found wonderfully personal. Arriving at their home early, I was ready to capture all the fun. Charlotte gifted her friends and family in the morning, a touching gesture that brought heartfelt reactions all around. The morning flew by, and soon we were off to Dodmoor House.

The weather was perfect, and the venue looked stunning in the sunlight. I captured some beautiful details before focusing on the guests. Charlotte preferred I capture their interactions over bridal prep, which was absolutely fine by me. Initially, she didn’t want a first look with her dad, but she changed her mind on the day. Her dad’s pride and their heartfelt hug were priceless moments to capture.

Once the first look and guest arrivals were done, we headed into the charming courtyard barn for the ceremony. The atmosphere was filled with giggles and joy. Ashley looked dapper and a bit nervous, but his beaming smile hid it well.

Charlotte looked breathtaking as she walked down the aisle with her dad. The ceremony was a whirlwind of emotions, with tears and laughter in abundance. And just like that, they were officially married! Congratulations!

After a traditional confetti toss, we gathered in Dodmoor’s courtyard for a large group photo.

The excitement was infectious as everyone celebrated the newlyweds. We spent the drinks reception on the green, with perfect weather. Lawn games were a hit, and guests relaxed, enjoying canapés and each other’s company.

The couple opted for minimal group photos, prioritising time with family. We swiftly captured the formals in ten minutes. Before the speeches and wedding breakfast, we wandered around Dodmoor House for couple portraits. The brief session was enough to capture their love beautifully without taking them away from their loved ones for long.

A delightful surprise was the couple’s dog, who was the epitome of relaxation and joy throughout the day.

Post-reception, we moved into the Catesby Barn for the wedding breakfast, speeches, and evening reception. Ashley wanted to get his wedding speech done before the meal to enjoy his food without nerves. You’d never know he was anxious—his speech was perfect.

After the meal, everyone returned to the courtyard. We took advantage of the golden hour for more couple portraits, a decision the newlyweds were thrilled with. The evening guests arrived, doubling the celebration’s vibrancy. The courtyard buzzed with laughter and dancing.

The evening flew by, culminating in the couple cutting their cake and sharing their first dance. A massive congratulations to Charlotte and Ashley—I wish you both a lifetime of happiness. As I write this, they’re off on their honeymoon, and I hope they’re having a magical time.

A big thank you to Charlotte, Ashley, and their guests for making me feel so welcome. And a special shoutout to Dodmoor House—your dedication to ensuring every couple has an incredible day is unparalleled. You rock!
