A Summer Wedding at Harlestone Park: Hayley & Brett’s Big Day
In the summer of 2024, I had the absolute pleasure of capturing Hayley and Brett’s beautiful wedding at the breathtaking Harlestone Park. Nestled in the rolling countryside of the picturesque village of Harlestone, just outside Northamptonshire and adjacent to the renowned Althorp House Estate, the venue provided the perfect backdrop for their unforgettable day. Harlestone Park is a hidden gem that combines stunning landscapes, a historic atmosphere, and a warm, welcoming feel—ideal for a wedding celebration.
A Relaxed Wedding Meet-Up
About a month before their wedding, I met with Hayley and Brett at a cozy local pub to catch up and chat about their wedding plans. From the moment we sat down, it was clear that they wanted their day to be as relaxed as possible, prioritising time with family and friends over anything else. While they were excited for a few couple portraits, they were most focused on enjoying the day and celebrating their love with their nearest and dearest. It was such a refreshing approach, and I loved hearing how much their loved ones meant to them.
Arriving Early: Capturing the Moment Before the Big Day
On the wedding day, I arrived nice and early—as I always do—to take a wander around Harlestone Park, chat with the staff, and plan out the creative shots. Soon after, Brett and his crew arrived, looking dapper in their suits. The energy was palpable as friends and family started arriving. The moment Brett was greeted by his loved ones, there were huge hugs all around, and I was thrilled to capture those emotional and genuine reactions.
I quickly popped in to see Hayley, but she had decided to enjoy some quiet time with her bridal party, opting to get ready in peace without photos. I completely respected her wishes, knowing how important it is for a bride to enjoy those intimate moments with her closest friends and family.
A Beautiful Ceremony at Harlestone Park
As guests filled the venue, the excitement was contagious. There was such a lovely atmosphere, with children running around, laughing, and creating a joyful buzz throughout the day. And the weather? Perfect! The sun shone brightly, adding to the warmth of the celebration.
When Hayley walked down the aisle, she looked absolutely stunning in her dress. Her dad was beaming with pride as he escorted her, and the moment they reached Brett, the smiles and laughter from the couple—and their guests—could be felt throughout the room. The ceremony was full of joy, love, and laughter, making it a truly special occasion to witness.

After the vows, Hayley and Brett were officially married, and the crowd erupted in applause! We then headed outside for the much-anticipated confetti throw. If you know me, you’ll understand just how much I love this part of the day! There’s always so much energy, excitement, and colour, making it a fantastic moment to capture.
Stunning Couple Portraits with a View
Once the confetti moment wrapped up, the drinks reception began, and guests were congratulating the newlyweds with heartfelt hugs and laughter. Hayley, Brett, and I then sneaked off for their couple portraits. And we did it in style! We hopped on a golf buggy and made our way to one of the most picturesque spots at Harlestone Park—the historic stone bridge that overlooks the beautiful lake and lush golf course. It’s a location that offers sweeping panoramic views, and it provided the perfect backdrop for their portraits.
The combination of stunning natural surroundings and the sun-soaked weather made for some truly magical photos. Harlestone Park’s lake and expansive grounds offer endless opportunities for wedding photos that will last a lifetime.
Laughter, Love, and Heartfelt Speeches
After the couple portraits, we gathered for a few family formals before heading back inside for the wedding breakfast. The wedding speeches were an absolute highlight of the day. From touching moments to hilarious anecdotes, the room was filled with laughter and love. Guests laughed and cheered throughout, making it a truly entertaining and heartwarming experience.
Dancing the Night Away
The evening reception was the perfect end to a perfect day. Guests flooded the dance floor, letting loose and celebrating with the newlyweds. But before the dancing began, Hayley and Brett shared a beautiful first dance. The love and joy between them were palpable, and it was an honour to capture such an intimate moment.
Hayley also shared a special dance with her dad, and Brett had his own dance with his mom—these emotional moments are always a joy to photograph. Afterward, Hayley tossed her bouquet, and, as always, the ladies were eager to catch it, adding a touch of playful fun to the evening!
A Wedding Full of Love, Laughter, and Memories
As the night wore on, the energy in the room continued to rise. Guests danced, laughed, and celebrated until the very end. From the ceremony to the confetti throw, couple portraits, heartfelt speeches, and lively dance floor moments, it was a day full of love, laughter, and joy.
