A Joyful and Intimate Wedding at The Walnut Tree Inn, Northamptonshire
In 2024, I had the absolute pleasure of capturing Amanda and Robert’s intimate wedding at The Walnut Tree Inn in Northamptonshire. As a Northamptonshire wedding photographer, I’ve had the honour of photographing several smaller, personal weddings at this stunning venue, and each one is a unique experience. This wedding was no exception—it was full of love, laughter, and beautiful moments that I am so excited to share.
Why an Intimate Wedding is the Perfect Choice
Amanda and Robert’s wedding was a perfect example of how beautiful and meaningful a small wedding can be. They chose to invite only their closest family and friends, creating an atmosphere that felt personal and full of love. This kind of intimate wedding allows couples to spend quality time with those who matter most, and the entire day felt incredibly special.
I was hired to capture just a few key moments: bridal prep, the ceremony, and the drinks reception. Even though I’ve shot many weddings at The Walnut Tree Inn, I always strive to approach each day with fresh eyes and creative ideas to make the photos stand out.
The weather on the big day was absolutely perfect—sunny skies and warm sunshine—which helped set the tone for the celebration. I arrived early to get creative and plan the perfect shots, making sure to capture the atmosphere of the day as well as the lovely details that made this wedding so special.
Bridal Prep: Joy, Laughter, and Heartwarming Moments
The bridal prep was filled with smiles and excitement. When I walked into Amanda’s room, I was immediately struck by the joy in the air. Surrounded by family and a few playful little ones, Amanda was absolutely glowing. There’s something magical about children at weddings—they bring a unique and lively energy to the day. I loved capturing the candid moments as the little ones eagerly got ready for the ceremony.
Soon enough, it was time to move to the ceremony room, where guests had gathered to witness the union of Amanda and Robert. Robert, looking dashing in his suit, was waiting with a huge smile. Amanda, walking down the aisle with her son proudly by her side, looked stunning in her dress, and the moment they shared was truly heartwarming.

The Ceremony: Laughter and Love in the Air
The ceremony itself was filled with emotion and humour, creating a light-hearted yet deeply meaningful atmosphere. Amanda and Robert’s vows reflected their love and commitment, and the entire room was full of laughter and tears of joy. It’s moments like these that make intimate weddings so special—the genuine connection between the couple and their loved ones is undeniable.
And just like that, Amanda and Robert were officially Mr. & Mrs.! It was an incredible privilege to witness and capture this beautiful moment in their lives.
Confetti Fun, Portraits, and Celebrating Love
After the ceremony, we stepped outside for one of my favorite wedding moments—the confetti throw. If you know me, you know I love this moment for the sheer energy it brings. As the couple walked through a shower of confetti, their smiles were infectious. The love and happiness in the air were palpable, and it was wonderful to capture such a joyful moment.
Next came the group photos, which were quick and easy, thanks to the intimate size of the wedding. Afterward, guests returned inside to grab a drink, while I had a few quiet moments with Amanda and Robert to capture their portraits. They wanted to keep the session short, as they were eager to spend as much time as possible with their guests, which I completely respected. We were able to get a few stunning shots without rushing, and the relaxed vibe made the portraits feel natural and timeless.
Cake Cutting and Goodbyes: A Perfect Ending to an Intimate Day
After capturing a few portraits, we headed back inside for the cake cut. The newlyweds shared a sweet moment cutting their cake. As the day came to a close, I packed up and left, feeling grateful for the opportunity to document such a meaningful celebration of love.
I want to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Amanda and Robert and wish them a lifetime of happiness together. I’d also like to thank the wonderful staff at The Walnut Tree Inn for making the day so seamless and magical.
